Humble Beginnings
In the 1970s, this land in Santa Clara was home to a modest strip center, a small collection of local shops anchored by a 7-Eleven. What started as a quiet hub of daily life laid the foundation for something much greater—a vision of high-quality, community-focused living.
Breaking Ground
We started the demolition process of the old strip center, paving the way for what would eventually become The Balmoral. The construction process was both arduous and meticulous.
We had to think through each step twice, given that we were the first high-density apartment community in Santa Clara.
72-Hour Noise Study
Prior to starting construction, we conducted a 72-hour noise study, placing 40 microphones around the property to monitor ambient sounds, including the Caltrain. We used this data to proactively integrate advanced soundproofing techniques, including double-wall construction and specialized steel framing, to significantly reduce noise.
Framework to Finish
With the foundation in place, Balmoral began to take shape. The structure went up, revealing the outlines of what would become a landmark in Santa Clara.
Attention to Detail
From the steel to the soundproofing to the Honduran Mahogany wood, Balmoral held itself to the highest standard of craftsmanship. The owner takes pride in maintaining a key Santa Clara landmark.
Final Form
In 2005, Balmoral opened its doors to residents for the first time. The building is a product of leveraging thoughtful design and more than three decades of expertise to create a space where people can truly feel at home.
